The Lowell Plan held its first fundraiser for Public Matters on May 4th at Mill #5’s Luna Theatre. Public Matters alums and Lowell Plan members were invited to a reading and book-signing featuring Paul Marion with his new book, Union River: Poems and Sketches, published by Bootstrap Press of Lowell. Admission was $50 and included a copy of Union River. The event netted $3,500 and 70 people attended. We are grateful to Paul who donated the books and to Jim Lichoulas who waived the room fee and provided technical support.
The concluding event for Public Matters 2017 will be Wednesday, June 21 , 4-6 pm at UMass Lowell’s Innovation Hub, 110 Canal St. Watch for your invitations.
